Being German and having grown up in the US playing basketball, it should come to no surprise that my favorite player in basketball is Nowitzki. He is without a doubt the best non-american basketball player ever and currently is 7th on the all time scoring list. One reason why he has been able to conjure so many points is because of his signature shot, the one legged fadeaway. In this article I am going to show you why this shot is so good and nearly unblockable.

As explained in the video above, the combination of Dirks height, arm length, and the fact that he is leaning back with one leg out at a 90° degree angle makes his shot virtually unstoppable. Even Yao Ming, who is 7 foot 6 with the vertical jump of Derrick Rose (40 inches) wouldn’t be able to block Dirks shot.

Dirks signature shot has become so famous and popular that other NBA stars have even imitated his shot. Thats when you know you have a nice move, when other stars use it themselves.
