Parasite Eve Review

This is review of the Video Game, Parasite Eve.

Parasite Eve is a horror/rpg game made and published by Square Soft, it is based on a book, Parasite EVE by Hideaki Sena, Parasite Eve was released around 1998.

In Parasite Eve, you take on the role of Aya Brea, you can give her a different first name if you wish, not sure if that extends to her last name, Aya is a rookie NYPD cop in the game, I'm not gonna get into the story much because I try not to do spoilers, so, I will talk about what I like about the game.

The graphics for Parasite Eve are what you expect for an rpg on PlayStation from 1998, but to me, the Graphics are still great, I love the graphics, this game does not need the latest and greatest graphics to be great, there are quite a few things in this game already that help that, the graphics being one small part.

The story for Parasite Eve is very unique and quite creepy, the writers outdid themselves with this game, the story is phenomenal, you'd be hard pressed to find a game with a better story than Parasite Eve, in my opinion, the thing that makes or breaks games, apart from lousy controls, is a dull and boring story, which luckily is not the case for this game, the story is absolutely fantastic.

The controls are great and simple to learn, being standard rpg controls for the PlayStation, as I mentioned above, sloppy controls usually make or break a game, but the controls for Parasite Eve are quick and easy to learn, that even someone who hasn't played an rpg could pick up the controller and quickly learn every button needed to be used.

The music for Parasite Eve is fantastic, every piece is well done, and delivered at exactly the right time and every battle feels intense with the music that plays, I find this is another thing that can sometimes make or break a game, and the music of this game is perfect, absolutely love it.

The enemy design is really creepy, and that is perfect for this game, there are so many different enemy designs, based on things you would see everyday, rats, birds, spiders, etc, the designs are really creepy and are really well designed, and planned, every fight is really creepy with these monsters showing up when you least expect it, great enemies.

I think once you beat the game twice, you unlock one of the buildings, think it's the Chrysler building, which opens up a challenge, to fight your way up to the top floor, and the building is 100 floors I believe.

This has been my review of Parasite Eve for PlayStation, for my score it gets a 10 out of 10.
