Apple’s Products Are Not So Great

If Steve was here, he’d probably say the same thing. Yea, I said it. This is not an article by the way, more like a Visionary Stream of Consciousness.

The Tech

Apple’s products suffer from most of the same issues as other products in the technology space; faulty updates, crashes and an overall failure to perform exactly as described. It’s clear to see, we just won’t admit it.

Then & Now

In 2007 they released the first iPhone and it was Earth-shattering, but in recent years their commanding first-place lead has started to fade. For commentary on Apple’s lack of design innovation just look at any Samsung Ad from the last few years, I don’t need to elaborate on this do I? Don’t those commercials sting a little bit? The company that once led has began to follow.

The Problem With Innovation

When a company introduces truly innovative technology, like Apple has, it becomes extremely difficult to out do yourself. Additionally, these innovations are quickly copied by other companies and your once unique design becomes ubiquitous.

Why We Still Love Them

As a company, Apple is bigger than the products that they offer. We’ve fallen in love with their spirit. We fell in love with the company that was the underdog fighting against the titans of the 90s. We admire them as the company that pushed technology and the global economy forward by 20 years. Even though it may not have happened yet, we know they’re always on the cusp of unleashing another device that will change the way we think about the world.

A Lesson to Other Businesses

Customers don’t expect a company to be perfect but they do expect you to continue to stand for the ethos that made them fall in love with you. Because of this, Apple will continue to be one of the most valuable companies in the world.
