Virgin Music Group Expands Operations In Nigeria

Virgin Music Group, a corporation owned by Universal Music Group that provides services to labels and artists, has increased its presence in Lagos, Nigeria.

Olukorede “Kay” Ikazoboh, a respected music professional, has been appointed Head of Virgin Music Nigeria and will be in charge of the business’ activities in the country.

The initial deals Virgin announced in the region were collaborations with solo singer Reekado Banks, “one of Nigeria’s hottest Afrobeats labels,” Dvpper, that have a song with Darkoo and Ayra Starr.

Ikazoboh is a well-known music manager who has worked with musicians including Odunsi the Engine, Mowalola, and Taylwar through her company, Kimani Moore Entertainment.

She also had a range of responsibilities for Warner Music Group in Emerging Markets.

In September 2022, Universal Music Group established Virgin Music Group as a brand-new international branch, combining all of its current artist services companies.

These companies include Virgin Music Label and Artist Services, which was established by Universal in 2021, and Ingrooves, the music distribution and marketing company that UMG purchased in 2019.
