Those are questions I’d like to see answered too but they’re a tangent to the history of the MiGs.

If so, a logical course of action would be for the agent to have killed the potential recruit ASAP, rather than give three days in advance to escape safely and to inform his superiors, the latter of which he had to have done otherwise they wouldn’t have known of this ultimatum… (or this entire story is a crock).

Of course, MIG-21s are more interesting, but their history in the West was already told, only new details here are the spy fiction which I don’t find convincing.
