10 Steve Jobs quotes to Remember on His (and my) Birthday

I love that I share a birthday with Steve Jobs. It gives me a lot of chances to reflect on life, passion, vision, and entrepreneurship. Let’s do that:

  1. “Your time is limited. Don’t waste it living someone else’s life.”

2. “If today was the last day of my life would I want to do what I’m about to do today?”

3. “Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.”

4. “Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful, that’s what matters to me.”

5. “Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly, and get on with improving your other innovations.”

6. “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”

7. “Stay hungry, stay foolish.”

8. “I want to put a ding in the universe.”

9. “Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes…the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules…You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify them or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things…they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that do.”

10. “Things don’t have to change the world to be important.”

and finally

11. “I bought a seven dollar pen because I always lose pens and I got sick of not caring.”

Wait. That last one is Mitch Hedberg. It’s also his birthday. He had a lot of great stuff to say, too.

I love that I share my birthday with some amazingly quoteable and loved figured. Take a minute to reflect today.
