I’m not going to defend Uber even a little bit, but my problem with the ride-sharing question is that the alternative is just as bad, if not worse. As someone who has spent a lifetime being periodically denied service by taxis because of my race, I have no nostalgia for the old way of doing things. Uber’s not doing anything a cab company can’t do if they wanted.
And as for the fact that the Uber executives are scummy people, do some research on the head management of other things you use and buy in your life. If you base your purchase decisions on the moral character of corporate ownership, chances are you are going to be buying a lot less stuff in your life. Who else should we put on the blacklist?
