On the other hand, I fully understand why you worry about this issue. I also never support the previous sad practices forcing removing any religion. However, giving compulsory courses in prime schools is too early. In addition, they are done in a language nobody knows, therefore, nobody understands what the message is. The religious courses must be elective in higher level. And, if we don’t use religion as power, but we accept it as a belief\trust between God and human, then, we should give opportunities to our kids to choose their own beliefs, not the one of their parents belief. In current system, both in the West and in the East, children can only believe what their parents and teachers choose for them. This is 100% wrong.
