Amazon minimum discount percentage filter is broken!
I have received an email from a user (unregistered anonymous user contact via email) of jeviz.com who wrote:
Hey, I was using your site to search for an item and I put in the minimum discount percent, but when it goes to amazon it doesn’t show things with that discount. It also has some items that are full price. Is it broken?
Disclamer:I am the author of jeviz.com which supercharges Amazon searches with some handy features. When user press search button it directs user to Amazon with a desired search query URL.
I asked the user what parameters he/she used here below parameters:
- Department:All Department
- Keyword: Minecraft
- Minimum Discount Percentage: 50
- Prime Eligible: Yes
Here is the screenshot of parameters
Result page of query as shown below, first result product has only 15% off although it says Showing results for 50% off or more.
When you scroll down in the first page, fifth product is actually 50% off.
I repeated the search directly at Amazon.com with choosing Toys & Games Department and 50% Off or More and I validated the problem.
I tried similar search at Electronics Department to check whether this problem exists in other departments but hopefully Electronics Department worked smoothly then I tried all departments and some departments worked as Electronics Department and some are failed like Toys & Games Department.

I hope Amazon will fix this problem soon.
What can you do meanwhile?
- Increase the discount percentage, that seems to filter some low discount products.
- From jeviz.com first chose a department then chose sort by Prime Discount: High to Low to sort by discount percentage.
