Tim Cook became Apple CEO in August 2011 After Steve Jobs steppedped down due to ongoing medical illness, at the time Tim Cook originally signed on to be CEO until 2021. it was extremely difficult to work out how much his remuneration package was worth however we can deep dive into the 2019 numbers.

Apple currently breaks down its compensation package into three sections, 1. base salary, 2. annual cash incentives and 3. Equity awards.

Firstly base salary –

In 2019 alone Tim Cook’s base salary was US$3 million. This works out to be over $1000 per hour if you work a standard 9-to-5 just for turning up for work according to SEC fillings.

Annual cash incentives –

Apple exceeded its targets of 256.6 billion in net sales and over 60 billion in operating income for 2019, however, the company did not beat the numbers for the top executives to get maximum bonuses.

The annual cash incentives are paid out at 128% of the target for 2019, down from the max of 200% of their target in 2018.

This netted Tim Cook an additional US$7.6 million for the 2019 year alone in annual cash incentives.

Equity awards –

The majority of Tim cooks compensation package came from the vesting of $113 million worth of Apple shares. All in all, Tim cooks annual salary for the 2019 year was a total of 124,000,000.00 which is actually down on the 2018 year of 136,000,000.00
