I had a nutritionally based, healthy eating website in the mid-90’s. We were way ahead of the curve. My partner was a registered dietitian and I was the Cowgirl out on the edge of the wild west. Back in those early days, I did everything.
I’m telling you this because there’s so much talk these days about different calories doing different things, and you should be on the Paleo, Atkins, South Beach, Beverly Hills, Weight Watchers orJenny Craig diet, and so on and so on.
You achieved your weight loss goal the way it should be done. You did the one thing that we human beings refuse to do; you changed.
You changed your lifestyle drastically during the first part of your journey, but you’re still here. Your body didn’t die. No one found Cameron Maddux on the streets on the verge of death. Not everyone can do what you did.
One does have to listen to their body, and look at factors like age, health and weight, but bravo Cameron.
You hit the proverbial nail on its head.
I don’t care what kind of calories you take in; if you take more in than you’re burning off, you’ll gain weight. If you take in less and you’re burning off more, you’ll lose weight.
It’s that simple.
Now if I just convince my two Paleo friends that it really is okay to eat blueberries, which they can, and strawberries, which they say they can’t, I’d be very happy.
It’s such nonsense.
You did it right. I love your attitude. You will succeed.
All this from a 70-year-old who lost forty pounds more than twenty years ago and has kept it off.
