Losing sight
Léonie Watson

Thank you for writing this story. I think there is a perception, I certainly had it, the diabetes is a disease, but if you take a pill or give yourself a shot, life everything will be fine. My type 1 diabetic cousin died of a massive heart attack at the breakfast table at fifty-four. She didn’t take care of herself. She was in total denial.

My cousin’s husband dropped dead of a diabetic heart attack. He had just started to lose weight and get serious about his disease, but it was too late.

Diabetes is so hard on the body and yet a lot of people either aren’t aware that they have it or think they won’t have any side effects.

Again, thank you for writing so bravely about your experience. I know that you will inspire other people to take it seriously.
