When I read “powerful articulations working against the articulation of surveillance,” I too thought of PR campaigns, or even nightmares. A PR strategist sprung to mind. That’s exactly what they do: rearticulation. They, along with political strategists and marketing strategists, try to sell a story. But first that story needs to be created. The NRA has all types of strategists working to forge particular articulations, and trying to mold a specific assemblage. Their job may very well be to support that specific assemblage that promotes the agenda held by the NRA. Whichever side you’re on in terms of support, the tendential force of their articulations is impressive.
