When students are led to believe that all major issues can be solved with a dichotomous “us or them” philosophy, education suffers as a whole.
I’m a liberal professor and my conservative students terrify me.
Jason McCormick

Politics used to be about compromise and (often frustratingly, agonisingly) slow progress to extend the same civil rights to everyone. I believe a big part of the reason why the conservative right is making so much ground now is because they have discovered they can just threaten to burn everything down if they don’t get what they want. Unfortunately, what conservatives usually want is to maintain the status quo, or existing systems of privilege. “When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.”
