Eli Perelman

For the record, most (if not all) of the things you described as “Christian” in your list are not held by the majority of Christians. They are peculiar to American Protestantism (a small minority of Christians worldwide) and even more peculiar to Pentacostalism (an even tinier minority).

In my discussions with many atheists who left Christianity, I found that they had a very confused understanding of Christianity. So it was logical that they rebel against it, but they perhaps went too far in rejecting faith altogether.

If some people say 2+2=5 and call themselves Mathematicians, it does not follow that you should reject mathematics because those people are wrong/confused.
