With only a few weeks left in Open Leaders 6 (OL6), it’s time to plan for Open Leaders 7 (OL7). We’re especially excited to update the culture track for this next round of the program, outlined below.

What is Open Leaders?

Mozilla Open Leaders is a cohort-based, 14-week online mentorship program focused on what it means to #WOLO — work open, lead open. Mozilla’s Open Leadership & Events team facilitates the program twice a year.

What’s new in Open Leaders 7?

This round will prepare participants for our next Global Sprint, a fun, two-day collaborative hackathon. During the sprint, a diverse network of educators, engineers, artists, scientists, and many others come together in-person and online to build projects for a healthy Internet.

The culture track is for participants who think of organizational culture as their ongoing project. It helps them develop a set of skills and methods of practicing open leadership that will guide their community’s culture to work open. They learn more about bringing new, inclusive collaboration methods to their projects while implementing safe, open participation guidelines

You might be especially interested in the Open Leaders culture track if you:

  • Work day to day within your community to promote openness.
  • Lead cultural change in your community, organization, or project.
  • Serve in a particular outreach role to help people make change on a peer-to-peer basis.

While 14 weeks seems like a long time, it’s just enough time to begin learning about open culture together with your cohort. We hope that you’ll join us for OL7 to explore what it means to contribute to an open culture.
