"Empowering it's not." An understatement if ever! When it comes to empowering women, Katy Perry is a fake. She is relentlessly commercial--the type who can't "sell out" because she has never been anything but. Of course, pop is always treading on the edge of selling out, or it wouldn't be pop. But the current generation of female pop stars are not using their platform to empower girls. They are doing stuff like "Bon Appetit", which does the opposite.
