Chain.info Biteye Forensics Tracks 1,547 Stolen Bitcoin
Stolen Coins Undergoing Mixed Coin Splitting, Probably Headed to Exchanges
This morning, a Reddit user named “Zhoujianfu” posted on the r/btc subreddit that his 1,547 bitcoins and nearly 60,000 BCH were stolen due to a hacker SIM swap attack. The total value is currently more than $37 million. Zhoujianfu used the corresponding address private key signature information to prove ownership of the relevant address.
Chain.info uses its blockchain tracking product Biteye to track the address where this unfortunate whale lost 1,547 BTC, one of which is 2e5ac7caebe86dc71440c8d8d7cd82ccf77b73d879280699c698182f79ac7cc6. The stolen funds of 1,500 BTC were split into two approximately 750 BTC transactions into the two addresses bc1qgsc42udnwv745ae40sj9wnsg9uvxleeku3vtrs, bc1qu8dhpnma8k83lu3gtyjyjljwxu0k672es9j96d, the latter amount after several transfers and small splits, the final remaining 746.64BTC sent to a new address bc1qml7wvltxjakkm6g5pevlkthxs65vep7kwlhv9y and suspended flow, in addition to a sum of bc1qu8dhpnma8k83lu3gtyjyjljwxu0k672es9j96d enabled on 2019–12–13. The address has been tracked. Historically, the address has transferred funds to multiple exchanges within three to five hops. At present, the address has been emptied and most of it has entered a new address bc1qkzx2c4aky948aaacp5l9gml9hj486x90j6t4ea. The remaining funds are being transferred in small amounts.
