I am one of these statistics. In 2009 when I had a white stroke, my brain would help my body “forget to eat” on a regular basis. It was not the cerebral impairment, but intelligence on the body’s part. As I observed regular fasts, which I have for much of my life, my brain healed more quickly.

Short fasts are definitely the best. Longer fasting requires lower outside stimuli (little or no ‘world’ input) and a lot of self discipline! I have done those as well but the shorter fasts, say one day per week, which is what I began to do after the stroke, help immensely.
