The Eyes of Love

The eyes of love are the eyes of the Infinite.
Everywhere, every when, the worlds vibrate from love.
Within love there is always beauty.
Always, in every moment, there is something to appreciate and enjoy.

The trick is not to force ourselves to see beauty in something that we perceive as ugly or horrific or tragic. The trick is to find, in each moment, the beauty that we are able to see.

We can focus on the heartache, the hurt, or focus on something beautiful about this very moment, right now. Just this moment. We can choose to breathe in this tiny gem of beauty, or vast unfolding vista of awe. Breathe that in and in our breathing, nurture and nourish and feed and water that beauty so that it grows. Where is this garden? In our hearts.

“Beauty is a light in the heart.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

When our hearts are light, we become that light. In the midst of any thing, we are that lightness. Light is the intelligence that lets us see. It is the lantern that leads to love.

“Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.” ~ Rumi

I love this quote from Rumi. How can the beauty of what I love be what I do? Today I asked of the Divine… my ‘daily ask’, so often for others, so often for those I work with… today it was simply this.

“Let the beauty of what I love be what I do today.”

What I heard, internally was along the lines of “let it be how I live, move and have my being…” That began to make sense to a mind whose addiction to information has abated, yes, but not dissolved entirely. It made my mind go to the place of what my heart finds beautiful about… my surroundings, my life, and All That Is. It made my mind listen to my heart.

I’m not worried about whether my mind figures this {or anything else} out or not. I don’t need to believe in anything for it to manifest.

Eleanor Roosevelt wrote that “the future belong to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”. What if all futures come from how we perceive and allow ourselves to receive love’s beauty?

The sea was a grey and stormy companion on my walk this morning. The thought forms in the neighborhood ranged from “Oh I wish it would rain! We need rain!” to “Oh nooooo, it’s going to rain.” I chose to see the light on the water, the gold-and-silvery lifts and drops of wind and water and creating.

I can get lost in the movement of clouds, the bands of ‘weather’ that glide or race along with the wind.

I love the interaction of light and water.

Maybe being the beauty of what I love is being that interaction of light and movement and grace.

That is what I most often see when I look at ‘you’.

~Namaste~
