Okay, this might be coming from a position that involved multiple factors of good fortune and appropriately grabbed opportunities, BUT, I believe, if truly so desired, it IS POSSIBLE to break free from the cycle of proving your ‘employability’.
I will not sing the happy entrepreneurship song, or make a point about ‘being content’ because, I have seen life enough to know both are bullshit.
There are certain material comforts we need in life, and they require money, which requires you to sell your soul off a bit (to your employer, or your customer or your investor, or someone else in the line).
But that said, achieving financial freedom is probably not as hard as what people make it out to be. By financial freedom I do not mean Bill Gates rich. All I mean is a relatively comfortable position where you need not spend the larger part of your life making sure you stay on the payroll, but also have time for counting stars, whistling at birds and feeling dew drops on your face.
