Import Export Code (IEC) Registration

The Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) is an essential 10-digit identification number that every business entity must obtain to engage in import or export activities. Without a valid IEC Number, a person or entity is not authorized to participate in the import or export of goods. In the case of the import or export of services or technology, the IEC shall be required only if the service or technology provider wants to take advantage of the Foreign Trade Policy or deal with specified services or technologies. IEC is granted by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in India.
