SBI PO 2017: Prelims analysis and expected cutoff

State Bank of India completed the Preliminary exam for the first few batches who had applied for the post of Probationary officer on April 29 and 30. The exam was conducted online and was for a duration of 1 hour.

The bank sets a cutoff for the preliminary examination and candidates who score marks equal or more than the cutoff are called for the Main exam. The difficulty level,pattern and projected cutoff score for SBI PO would be discussed in this article.

The recruitment notification for Probationary Officers in February has been published this year. The mains exam is scheduled to be held on May 6 and May 7. The exam has followed a similar pattern and was difficult on both the days. The SBI PO Question paper has been discussed as below.

Candidates had about an hour to complete the exam. There were about 3 sections- Quantitative Aptitude,Reasoning and English comprehension.There were 30 questions in the Language section and 35 questions in the other two sections.

An attempt of 13–16 questions was considered ideal in English Language Section and about 19–22 questions was considered apt for reasoning ability.For Quantitative aptitude, an attempt of 21–23 questions were considered ideal.

Candidates would be required to score both overall and sectional cutoffs. The prediction for the cutoff score is given as follows:

English 9–11

Reasoning 9–11

Quantitative Aptitude 9–12

Cutoff 48–54
