Is learning a way to distract a child from digital devices? It is already in the past. Today, the awareness of technology and education as a powerful educational tool is growing rapidly — now students can use their potential and create a brand-new connection with science.

This is exactly what Lithuanian startup “Trys Pradinukai” has already done — they connected the “Minecraft” game with elementary educational materials and told the whole Lithuania about it during a “Good morning, Lithuania” broadcast.

“I have been playing “Minecraft” for eight years now, but only one and a half years ago I saw that this game has a very high potential for education. At that time, during the Minecraft Gigafactory project, we successfully brought Tesla’s attention to Lithuania.”

“During live broadcasting, children asked a lot about what “Tesla” was, why it was an important project, why we chose to build a Minecraft Gigafactory near Kruonis city, etc. The children were genuinely interested in an incomprehensible topic because they were related to the game they like”,- says Darius Kniukšta, creative director of the project “Trys Pradinukai”. develops Minecraft. The first maps presented in the game are dedicated to the 100-year-celebration of Lithuania country. While playing, children explore the history of the country, become geographers, learn the most important symbols of the state.

Other adventures will be released in the future, and children will be able to feel the role of an archaeologist, architect or zoologist. The authors of the project believe that they will be able to to find new innovative ways of engaging students in gaming education.

This is how “Minecraft Gigafactory” looks like

About Minecraft: For the first time “Minecraft” appeared in 2009. Five years ago, Microsoft bought the company for $ 2.5 billion. According to the latest data, “Minecraft” is second in the world according to the number of replicated games sold (144 million) and the first, according to the number of active users per month (74 million).
