The emotions after the whole week in the ChangeMakers’ON social innovations camp are already settled down. The ideas developed by 10 teams were successfully presented at the final event held in Raudondvaris Castle. And, of course, this is not the end: A business incubator starting in September is waiting for the starters.

There is no doubt this time “ChangeMakers’ON” achieved the best results. Benjaminas Žemaitis, the head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts of Kaunas, agreed with it while congratulating the participants and experts of the camp.

“Business is a way of life that can not be learned in a few days. But if you find at least one like-minded person or business partner in this camp, you’ve already reached your goal. That’s why I congratulate you all and wish you success! “ -B. Žemaitis addressed the participants.

On behalf of the community of Kaunas University of Technology, the “ChangeMakers’ON” community was congratulated by Lina Užienė, a director of Management Study Programs: “Our university has three main challenges: to seek new knowledge, to support sustainable development of society and to strengthen communities. This is exactly what you do as a part of ChangeMakers’ON — bringing together young, motivated people and helping them develop positive business practices. I honestly thank the initiator of the camp and the soul of the whole community, Simona Simulyte, and hope that our cooperation will only grow”.

Throughout the camp, “ChangeMakers’ON” Facebook feed has been always updated with the latest captured moments around nature and antiques. In fact, the camp was held in a special place — at the Traditional Crafts Museum, located in Kaunas District, Biliūnai village, where one can feel for a moment as if going back to the past.

Business ideas — from a vegan meat to educational games for children

During the camp, with the help of experts, the development of business models was astonished by its diversity: For example, Arnas Vyšniauskas and Justinas Sacevičius, who, while still seventeen, are already thinking about the relationship between children and parents and offering a brilliant way out:

“We live in an advanced technology world where conflicts between parents and children are constant. Therefore, we are creating a gadget that reminds children of the housework they have to do with, while motivating them with a certain prize “, — Arnas says. This team has become one of the two which made the greatest progress during the camp — the boys were awarded with a special book from Vladas Lašas.

Another team that was awarded is “Apple Cheese”. A team member Valdas Žvinakevicius says the team is changing the traditional recipe for apple cheese into a much healthier, with less sugar and more healthy ingredients. The problem that the team is facing is a waste of food, which has become a global problem these days.

“Our goal is to collect excess apples from human gardens and prevent them from getting rotten and instead of this produce a delicious, healthy and organic product,” — Valdas presents his idea. This team won a special prize from KG Group — a flight with an air balloon.

One of the participating teams, “Three Cubes”, has already started to present the idea of their educational game to the whole Lithuania. The goal of the team is to integrate the popular “Minecraft” game into the learning process. “Today the main problem in schools is an outdated teaching methodology, which is deviated from the current social and technological progress,” — says Vytautas Butkus.

Their proposed solution is the “Minecraft” game, widely known among young people, with a total of 75 million active users. During the game, the child develops his concentration, thinking and planning skills, which can be perfectly adapted to the school.

Another team of young boys was offering a healthy and vegan alternative to the usual meat products. “Millions of animals are being killed for meat. Our team wants to change it by offering an alternative to meat products of the same nutritional value, healthy, organic and suitable not only for vegans”. The team invites you to join the already existing Bad Hunter Foods community to make sure of the uniqueness of the product itself.

“Moms Together” is a well-known team for the ChangeMakers’ON community, whose goal is to help parents find a trusted and responsible nanny using a mobile gadget. Meanwhile, Andrius Vosylius and Izolda Lebedeva presented their mission to organize festivals for men only: “Women have their own communities, they have a lot of events and exhibitions. We want men to bring together a genuine male community”, — Andrius reveals his ambition.

Other teams solve even more diverse social problems: “aktorius.lt” will improve the system of work planning for Lithuanian actors, “Dundo” mobile gadget will bring together farmers and consumers wishing to receive organic and fresh goods, “Solomon Chambers” joins people who need accessible and simultaneously professional legal aid, and Children’s Day Center “I’m here” will improve the quality of employment of children in Alytus.

The ChangeMakers’ON community is proud and delighted by every team that seeks for a better tomorrow!

For these opportunities, valuable help and advice, the event organizers and information partner thank the experts, ChangeMakers’ON program initiator Simona Šimulytė, program supporters and partners: “Barclays” international company, Kaunas University of Technology, “Enterprise Lithuania”, Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, “TeleSoftas”, project “Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs”, and “Gevaina Textile”.

Also, to Kaunas District Municipality, AB “Kauno Grūdai”, AB “Vilniaus paukštynas”, UAB “Baltic Pack”, UAB “Nortijos Grupė”, UAB “Press Department”, AB “Volf Engelman”, AB “Auga Group”, “Vip Deluxe Events”, UAB “Lavazza Blue Lietuva”, UAB “Whiskey Bar W1640”, “Flanders Investment & Trade Baltics”, “Biotrem”, UAB “101 Kepyklėlė”, UAB “Ekofrisa”, UAB “Blooms”, UAB “Mamma Pizza”, “Rocknrolla Bar & Kitchen” , UAB “Rokiškio pienas “, UAB “Naujasis Nevėžis”, UAB “Bernelių užeiga”, UAB “Atskalūnas”, UAB “City Bee”, “Taxify”, Head of Traditional Craft Center Romui Liekiui.
