What is the Electoral College?
The Electoral College is a process, not a place. The founding fathers established it in the Constitution as a compromise between election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens. archives.gov
Why it should be demolished…
Well there are a set of people formally labeled as electors. These men are subjective, meaning if the whole state (but the elector) votes Hillary Clinton. The elector can vote Bernie Sanders, and the Constitution would be fine with that. Crazy? I agree. And the absurdity doesn’t end here. Every state has a different number of electors, which means the accuracy of electoral votes is not near the target. The world has gotten wackier by the second. And one day in the future, the flaw will be brought to light.
The solution is…
We the people would have to switch our voting systems to based on a popular vote to hit the target. By then, we will not meet the day the light turns to the flaw.
