I Don’t Get Las Vegas
The Billfold

Nope, I can’t. I recently returned from my first trip to Vegas and I just didn’t get it. I assumed I did it wrong. It kept feeling like a Walt Disney version of Bourbon street. It lacked the authentic seediness I was expecting, without replacing it with the saccharine thrill of an actual amusement park.

I imagine if I were 21 instead of 41, and perhaps the thrill of imagined wonders would be fun, but I just really didn’t get it. I’d much rather spend a weekend vacation exploring a real town.
