Our assumed definitions of each of these categories are contingent.
While they may seem to be stable “things” they do, in fact, mean different things at different times and in different places.
Ideas about #Religion differ across historical time and geographical location.
Ideas about #Race differ across historical time and geographical location.
Ideas about #Gender (masculinity, femininity, etc.) differ across historical time and geographical location.
Ideas about #Sex … you get the idea. We can go on and on with numerous other socially-constructed categories, such as disability, illness, family, etc.
