A Chat with Jemma from Bee Imaginative Parties, Events and Clubs

Have you heard of Bee Imaginative Parties, Events and Clubs based in Banbury? If you have children under 10 I’m sure you’ve at least heard the name! Jemma is the face behind the business and I first met her when I attended her Mini Rocker classes with my daughter who was then a toddler. At this time Jemma hadn’t started up Bee Imaginative but her class, run in her dining room was really great fun and both myself and my daughter loved it. She had a break when she had her daughter and now we have Bee Imaginative and she always seems to have something going on for kids and parents too!

I’ve been in touch to get a bit more info from Jemma on Bee Imaginative.

Q. What inspired you to start Bee Imaginative?
Having studied Musical Theatre at University I have always had a passion for performance and entertaining. I thought about having a career on stage but I was always drawn to creating my own company based around performance in some way. Once I successfully graduated I took some time out working as a children’s entertainer in Scotland, running kids clubs, singing in my own cabaret and creating/writing the annual panto. Once the season was up I returned to Buckinghamshire working as the head entertainer and assistant manager for a global children’s music & play company. I did this for over a year then I fell pregnant with my first. This was when I decided to create my own music classes which is when Mini Rockers Music was born! Along with my first child.

These classes later developed into Bee Imaginative Parties, Events & Clubs. I loved the idea of taking on children’s favourite characters and bringing them to parties and having such an experienced background in performance and entertaining I knew that this could be a really successful business idea and there wasn’t much around in Banbury at the time.

Q. What sort of classes, parties and events do you run for kids and do you offer anything for parents?

I currently run Little Bee’s which is for babies from 6 weeks and a separate class for crawlers and new walkers. This class is music based with wonderful props, puppets, bubbles, parachute fun and more! These classes are run from my own venue in the centre of town.

We have a class called Mini Rockers Music Club which is for baby up to 4 years. Again fantastically music based, lots of great puppets, props, music themes, bubbles, parachute fun and more!

We have a dance class for mums, dads and carers called Dance Mummy Dance and this is a class where you can wear your baby in a carrier whilst learning simple dance routines to work out! No childcare costs and a lot of fun!

We have a huge range of birthday party themes from superhero training to princesses, Peppa Pig to Pirates, dance parties and pampering and so many more! This includes full parties and visits. For ages from baby to 10 years.

We also hold a number of themed events throughout the year!

Q. Having seen your fair share of parties, what would be your top tip for a parent organising a kids party?

My top tip for organising a party would be to ensure you have great entertainment! Not just because of what we do but because that is the key, in my opinion to a successful party. The entertainment should make the parents job be a lot less stressful (especially if you have the right entertainment). We pride ourselves on taking over the running of the party, the parents can relax and enjoy, take photos and see their children and guests having an amazing time. Everything else around that can be kept to a minimum. People and kids should go away from a party saying, my goodness what an amazing time we had, so much fun, I loved that game we played, the kids were kept busy and I could enjoy a cuppa!

Q. What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is seeing happy kids and happy parents. When I get a good a review at the end of a party or hear a kid say, ‘wow best party ever’. That makes it! Myself and team work extremely hard to get it right so to see lots of very happy people we know we have done our job properly.

If you have children the right age for one of her classes or parties I highly recommend you get in touch with Jemma who can be found on Facebook.
