Synopsis: Planet of The Vampire Women is an action-packed sci-fi adventure of the galaxy’s sexiest space pirates who pull off the ultimate heist only to crash into an unknown world. Finding themselves trapped on a storm-shrouded planet overrun with monsters, the intergalactic outlaws unknowingly awaken an unspeakable horror that causes the dead to walk… with insatiable lust for blood!

Review: Planet of the Vampire women follows a group of space pirates who rob a casino and a huge bloody shoot out ensues. They manage to escape but the are pursued by a police officer and they crash land on an alien world full of vampiric bugs and their captain is promptly turned and the rest of the movie is the cop teaming up with the space pirates to try to make it off the planet alive.

The visuals on display are impressive. It’s very much a throwback to old school Sci-fi films but adds in ample doses of gore and T&A giving it a unique flavor all its own. You can tell just by looking at the sets and creature work that a lot of time and love went into making this movie. The music also has that old school vibe with lots of theremin, setting the mood perfectly. The opening and ending scenes are amazingly violent bloodbaths. Astrid Corvair was by far my favorite character. She’s a pleasure clone who can change her clothes and hair style at will. She is equal parts sexy, silly and badass.

Everyone involved in this has my utmost respect for doing as much as they did. Actors did fight choreography and make up effects and set building and costumes. Darin Wood and Christy Savage between the two of them directed, wrote, produced, shot, edited, art design and more.

Planet of the Vampire Womens is a fun homage to classic Sci-fi but with the blood and boobs of contemporary flicks. If that sounds like your type of film, check it out.

Score: 8.0 out of 10
