As a cat owner myself, I can definitely relate to the findings here — those things do describe me from time to time! Yet I wouldn’t say my relationship with my cat, and how my cat and I treat each other, is something I would apply to the human relationships in my life. I definitely behave differently towards them.

Of course, they have similarities and realising that can make your head spin and make you want to change a few things in your life, but there’s a definitely a distinction between the two behaviour sets, even at an unconscious level.

And whilst I totally relate to finding a lot of emotionally unavailable men in my life, I don’t really think that’s unique to me as a cat owner. Maybe there’s an issue of correlation in this study. This was a really great read by the way, and thank you for sharing it!
