It is a statistically proven fact that the more educated you become the more liberal you become.

Couldn’t this just be a self-fulfilling prophecy though? The more educated you become, the more time you spend learning from liberal professors, who in turn have a major impact on your viewpoint, thought process, etc.

If you’ve succeeded in earning a PhD for example, you likely spent over 10 years in a predominantly liberal setting. It would thus be rather surprising for a PhD to be conservative, as the majority of their teachers & peers fall within the same ideological spectrum.

This is no doubt true in many industries (government workers, members of the military, the oil industry, Wall Street, etc), but what worries me is that higher education is the only industry focused on educating and shaping the minds of extremely impressionable 18–22yr olds…
