Lost in Hinterland

I’m lost in this hinterland,

Did I wonder away too far?

I fell in love with someone that asked me not to,

Their eyes filled with fear every time I took a step near.

But still I pushed and pulled till we were both left raw,

Locked in conviction of love evermore.

And I watch him now from a distance,

Knowing that letting the tides pass is the only way I can keep him.

He ducks and dives as he’s always had to,

Asking Morpheus to unite us in his far-off dreaming’s.

While I learn to yield my imaginings,

Until he can find his own way to bring me home.

So I surrender to this hinterland,

Trusting that love has found us in all the ways we need already.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
