If You Want a Special Life, You Have to Do Special Things
Most people do things for the money.
When they receive the money, they stop improving themselves and settle down.
Most of these people are also the ones who always talk about how bad their job is, how successful they could be in something else, and how many months they’ll still have to work before going on vacations or retiring.
What I usually say to these people is: Oh you totally can! You just need to work 1 or 2 more hours every evening after your workday, work several hours on weekend, and follow your passions!
But then, they always come up with excuses about why they can’t do that, or why it won’t happen.
The most common ones I hear are:
- But you don’t understand. I work all the day and I am exhausted at the end of the day, I really can’t work more at night.
- But I am not good enough, there are already tons of people doing this.
- But do you know how many people succeed? We always talk about success but never about loses.
And they’re totally right.
Life is exhausting, there are tons of people competing against us, and few people ever succeed.
The truth is that you only listen to what you want to hear.
People who don’t achieve their goals will always come up with excuses or facts to prove they’re right.
This way they won’t feel bad about not doing it since few people succeed.
They won’t frustrated or sad for the rest of their life because most people also dream about these dreams without achieving them.
But the truth is really simple and clear:
If You Want a Special Life, You Have to Do Special Things
This is what Gary Vaynerchuk said on his last video.
What he meant by that is that people need to work hard and love what they do.
Now, it’s much easier to understand why so few people succeed.
It is really hard to achieve our dreams and earn a special life. Because you don’t win it, or get it given to you. You earn what you truly desire and fight for.
And even if you work really hard on something, if you’re not good enough or not talented enough then you’ll lose.
That’s the hard truth about life. It happens.
Like you cannot become a runner if you have breathing problems, or you cannot play basketball if you’re not tall enough, or you cannot become a scientist if you’re not naturally good in maths.
This phenomenon is called life. We all need to deal with it.
Which is why you shouldn’t waste time on things you’re not naturally good at.
Find out what you truly love by tasting as many things and ideas as you want for 6 months each, use your time to find out the best things you both love and are good at.
Play on your strengths. What’s the goal in being average when you can become a legend.
Most people won’t do it because nothing proves to them that they will eventually succeed. They’re lazy, have strong truths about the world that are not always related to the actual world, and care about other’s opinion.
They’re not doing special things, they’re doing average things.
Life gives you what you ask for. And by asking for, I mean working hard on your strength. You need the mind and the actions that come with it.
And once you are practicing both of them while loving it every single day, then life will slowly show you the path of your dreams.
This is what I’m doing and it works.
Day after day I get closer that my dreams, I achieve the necessary steps that unlock my future.
For example, I’ve been applying for 200 Freelance jobs over the past year. And it’s only now that I receive some replies. Not even job successes, only replies.
And I can assure you that 99% of people would have given up before arriving at this point.
Doing special things take so much efforts and sacrifices. It’s far from being easy. It plays on luck and the type of person you are. It requires many things in order to evolve and bring you to the next level.
But if people who started with fewer things than you ever did it, then you can too.
Well, it only depends on whether you want a special life or not.
