Silencing You?
As a Youtube content creator for the last eight months, I have noticed consistently a pattern in the people I respond to on almost a daily basis. These people are what the internet call Social Justice Warriors, or as academics call Progressive Leftists, or increasingly as a backlash against these people continue to grow. The Regressive Left. The pattern is not that they are Social Justice Warriors, indeed, I seek them out on purpose in order to expose how vile their ideology truly is. But the pattern is always that the other side, usually labelled as Right-Wing or MRAs (Men’s Right’s Activists) are always trying to silence them. But the questions I would like to ask these people are, who is trying to silence you, why are they trying to silence you and how are they trying to silence you? It is these three questions I will discuss, and will show you, how their explanations for these questions are unsatisfactory.
Who is Trying to Silence You?
So, this is the first question I will be tackling when it comes to this phrase Regressives love to parrot. People always trying to silence them, so, who exactly is trying to silence them? Well the most common ones that I have always seen labelled at people are the terms MRA and Right-Wingers. It does not matter if you are a gender egalitarian such as myself, a Libertarian, hell even a feminist, it does not matter. You make one comment, one point, that they do not agree with and you are automatically an MRA and a right-wing conservative who is hell bent on oppressing them and silencing their voice. Simply because you happen to disagree with them, if you think I am generalising. Go on tumblr and find their spaces, go to reddit and watch the various amounts of Social Justice channels. They believe this, and it is basically their get out of jail free card.
A get of jail free card, but how? Simple, by labelling one an oppressor and a censorious one at that, especially if you are white, male, heterosexual and cisgendered. Its going to garner you a lot of sympathy from the progressive left and some of the more die hard liberals that don’t know any better. In their eyes and their belief, white people, specifically white men, are the causes of all the worlds oppression past and present. Even in places where white men never conquered in history or barely set foot in, you can be guaranteed they will find someway to implicate white people in some of its bad moments. Take it from me a mixed race man with a degree in history, white cultures have not even come close to causing the most damage, they have their rivals. Its foolish to even feel sorry and guilt over the actions of corpses. Anyway, this is the mindset of the people that these feminists and social justice warriors are trying to get their sympathy for. If makes these people virtue signal and rush to the aid of these whining professional victims and it get’s the feminists/SJWs out of the predicament they were in. Now they have a mob of white knights and fellow ideologues and if you happen to be one person or a dirty dozen, prepare for a hate mob full of pixel torches.
So now that we have discerned how it is get of jail free card, we must now look at the people the feminists and SJWs claim are trying to silence them. The most used examples are MRAs (Men’s Right’s Acitivists) and Conservatives.
Why and how are MRAs trying to silence you?
Now why would an MRA want to silence feminists and what benefit would it give this MRA who is trying to silence them. Well in the feminist mind (trying to play devil’s advocate) MRAs are part of the patriarchy, and the patriarchy is white supremacist and misogynist. Therefore, what she is saying is going against the “status quo” and that means that whatever she says, could undermine the world order that these patriarchs have created. That sex is not a social construct, women are weaker than men biologically, LGBT people do not deserve rights, women do not deserve rights, minorities do not deserve rights (even though most countries in the world aren’t white at all…they can never explain India, China or Japan). So this MRA has to silence her because the patriarchy wills it, the truth must never come out. It may also not be for some nefarious means, but simply because as an MRA he is automatically — in their mind — he does not believe in women’s right’s therefore he is a misogyinist. So he is silencing them because he hates women and feminists, because he is an MRA. But of course in the real world this could not be further from the truth. MRAs are picketed across the Western world by feminists and SJWs, footage like this is on youtube by the hundreds, maybe even thousands. Simply because an MRA speaks, or a journalist or academic that is sympathetic to the cause speaks, has to protested and shut down because they are MRAs. If a patriarchy truly existed, then how come MRAs exist. We could go on about the issues like the protection of men’s body’s in the law and reproductive rights etc. But let’s move on to Conservatives.
Why and how are Conservatives trying to silence you?
It doesn’t matter if you’re a Conservative with the capital C or a conservative with a small c. Conservatives are trying to silence feminists, because well, they have a history of doing so says the feminists. This may well have been true in the early days of the Women’s Right’s Movement of bygone days. But is it so much now? After all, they are still around and stronger than ever after going through Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush Sr and Bush Jr in chronological order. Well in the feminist/SJW mind’s simply because they are at the opposite end of the spectrum and hold different views, therefore they must be trying to silence them, because similarly to MRAs they want to uphold the status quo. Yes, traditionally conservatives are traditionalists, they do have standards that aren’t very liberal by my standards or their’s but I would not say the center right conservatives like Milo yiannopoulos or the libertarians are trying to take away my rights. That is reserved for actual fascists that are on the fringes, or the government I voted against the Conservative Party of Great Britain, who ironically banned Trump from Britain. But even then, the conservatives haven’t done much to stop feminists and progressives in academia, hell, there are even conservative feminists, the Home Secretary Theresa May is also a feminist. Some conservatives have even complained that left leaning feminists are the one’s doing the silencing. Indeed, many sex negative feminists and progressives have a lot of similarities to conservatives, but that is another article and video for another day.
In reality…
In reality, the evidence is perhaps overwhelmingly obvious to those of us who are left leaning (like the author) and right leaning alike that the people trying to silence us today are feminists and social justice warriors. Their dogma and their politics are trying to make a push in all corners of public life. In the political arena they are pushing for legislation that will destroy freedom of speech in the Western world, and are already doing so on college and University campuses. On the internet block bots are deployed against people that hold even the slightest different opinion or know someone who has a different opinion to these people. Mass censorship is used on online media outlets, forums, message boards and image boards. Even the industry itself has been heavily involved in censoring themselves for these sensitive snowflakes. So, this is the reality in which we live in and that they live in. But as any dogmatic group they do not see reality like we do. Like the fundamentalist Christian may believe the earth is flat despite evidence. The feminist and social justice warrior believes that patriarchy exists. We can debate them all we want, but this victim-hood mentality where this silencing myth comes from, will be there. Until eventually it is crushed, so we must continuously battle it wherever it is and take off this veil and show the world what this vile ideology truly looks like.
