Unique Way to Show Love to a Cancer Survivor

Alison is a cancer survivor. Her husband wanted to do something special for her, so without his wife’s knowledge, he made arrangements with Alison’s best friend, Mindy — to fly from Michigan to their home in North Carolina.

When Alison’s husband made some excuse to his wife, he secretly picked up Mindy at the airport, and whisked her to a local Chili’s where the manager decked her out as a waitress and gave her a quick course in the art of waitress-ing so she would blend in as part of the ‘staff’.

In the meantime, Alison’s hubby went back home to pick the family up, as they were all going out to dinner…to Chili’s, of course.

When Alison was seated, Mindy stepped over to them with pad in hand and asked if she might take their order. Alison was busily fussing with the children, but she looked at her husband and quietly said, “Oh, doesn’t her voice remind you of Mindy?” but he pretended to be engrossed with the menu.

When Mindy next stepped to her side, Alison glanced up quickly, and then touched her husband’s arm and said, “Why, she is the spitting image of Mindy! How could two people possibly…” And then it finally dawned on her…And what a reunion they had there, for all to see…And how wonderful is that ‘tie that binds’!

And isn’t it lovely that a busy restaurant manager cared enough to let his establishment be the backdrop for a tender moment in time? Thank you, Chili’s…wherever you are!
