Why You Must Have Conviction In Yourself

Everyday when I wake up, I start looking for a new job. I spend hours scanning jobs boards, and emailing people for leads. Usually I can find a reasonable position open. Usually there’s at least one decent job that I could apply for and be moderately happy working. Most people would be fine completing the application, and entering the interview process with those leads. Things should be working out fine and dandy right? Nope.
I refuse to settle for being moderately happy, or working a decent job. I am not aiming for okay. I have a very particular job in mind that I am looking for. I am not in the settling business. I am in the getting the job that makes me happy business. Everything else is secondary. Everything else is irrelevant.
My mom thinks I’m fucking crazy for this. Just get a job she tells me. Start working and don’t blow through your savings. You need work experience above all us. Pay your dues and work. You need to be financially stable, even it means working a super market.
Unfortunately for her, I refuse to listen. I refuse to bend to the status quo and begin my 40+ hour work week of misery. I refuse to settle.
Why?
Because I thoroughly believe that the right job is out there for me. I believe that if I am just patient enough, and wait this out, I am going to find the job that will make me happy and allow me to accomplish my long term goals. I have absolute conviction in myself. I know this will work out. I just need to network myself into the right connections and find the right opening, and everything will work.
Could I be wrong?
Yes.
It’s a gamble. But it’s one I am going to take. I believe in myself. I know I can make this work, and you can damn certain this will work out. I promise you that. When we set our minds to something, and relentlessly pursue it. The world will bend to our will. There is not other outcome that we will settle for.

We all make tough decisions everyday. Some choices are big, but most are small. No matter the size of the decision we make, no matter what path we chose to walk, we must have conviction on ourselves when we act. We must thoroughly believe that we making the right decision, even when experiencing a sea of doubt from the outside world.
For me, this means ignoring traditional wisdom. For me this means I willingly going against the grain and creating something unconventional for myself.
Conviction in our actions in sometimes all we hold. It is a fundamental belief that we are making the right decision, that the path we are walking is the right path for us. Conviction is necessary for us to be successful. Conviction is the only thing that lets us rise above the rift rafts and achieve the results we want to achieve.
You must have conviction in yourself in everything you are doing. It is the only thing that will stop you from succumbing to the dogma of the the world around you. When you have conviction in yourself, you will be able to make the tough decisions necessary to be successful. You will be able to hit your standard of success, not the outside world. Conviction is sometimes all you will hold, but it is absolutely necessary. Conviction lets you rise above the pack and achieve your most sought after goals.
This is why you must have conviction in yourself. Because the outside world will question you end to end when you challenge their way of thinking. You must be confident that you are making the right decision. You must be confident enough in yourself to be able to tune out the noise and not give in.
