There Is No Middle Ground
You are either growing stronger, or becoming weaker

We are all well aware of the sides that surround every situation. Some are good and some are bad, but there are always two sides. There is always strength or weakness. We are always better or worse at some thing.
More importantly, when it comes to personal characteristic development we are only ever getting better or worse. There really is no middle ground.
If it’s something you are passionate about then you will practice that thing day in and day out to become the best you can. But likewise, on the opposite end of the spectrum you tend to not increase proficiency in the things you care less about.
Sure we can find a balance of all things but you can only progress at so many of them, so we have to prioritize and pick the ones that matter most. Spiritual progression, physical, emotional, characteristic, work and professionalism and of course our many many hobbies.
It is as if we are all walking on a moving sidewalk. You know like the ones in the airport. But we are walking against it, so if we merely stop doing anything at all then we will go backwards away from our destination.
I think that’s way daily habits are so dang important. You’ve got to be doing those things that matter most to you each and every day. After all your actions speak louder than words so acting in a way that is congruent with what you want to become is really the only way to get there.
