To All My Good Friends

And especially my best of friends

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”― Jim Rohn

I’ve heard this quote all my life, and often thought about what it has meant in my life. At times I’ve changed the 5 people with whom I spend the most time for the purpose of bettering my personality and life, and at others I’ve imperceptibly noticed a change in me based on who I’m with the most.

To say the least I believe this is true. Jim has it exactly correct.

So to all my friends out there, new or old, thanks for being my friend and being apart of shaping my life and character. I couldn’t have done it without the precise combination of all of you in the moment(s) I met you and spent time with you.

I’m often not very good at expressing my gratitude or thanks or compliments to my friends but I am grateful for all of you, especially to those of you with whom I spend the most time. I won’t list names specifically but if you’re reading this I’m pretty sure you know who you are.

I’m grateful for all of you and for the things you’ve taught me, the rants and ideas you’ve shared with me, and the time you’ve spent letting me talk and share my opinions. It’s been way more than helpful.

Thanks for all the amazing memories of adventures and almost dying, group dates going miserably wrong and perfectly right, and late night conversations about some of everyone’s deepest desires.

It’s been more than a pleasure being your friend and I hope only that I’ve been able to offer y’all some of what you’ve given me.

With that, thank you and I look forward to many more adventures, conversations and memories in the future.
