We Should Read More

It’s the self education after schooling

I don’t think people wake up and say “I’m going to write a book about X topic” and then go and write it in a day. Quite contrary, in fact, from what I’ve observed, most authors spend months if not years crafting their thoughts and messages into a coherent story that can explain their point. Then they charge us what like $20? Sweet, we should be so much more grateful and stoked about how “inexpensive” books really are and how much they contain.

It seems the easiest way to become really smart and know a lot of things is to read and study a lot of things. Next time you meet someone intelligent ask them if they like to read, guarantee they say yes.

The ongoing self-education should never stop, we are the creatures of our thinking so why not fill our brains with thinking that enables us to be smarter, better, faster, stronger. (Thanks Daft Punk.)

I heard this quote again this morning:

“Don’t let schooling interfere with your education.”
— Mark Twain

Regardless of where you are at in life there is this element of education that should be remembered, and sought after. It’s not only found in schools, it’s all around you, and becoming “educated” is more than a degree or certificate.

So be educated and read more. It’s always more fun to have intelligent conversation.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
