Own Your Home, Own Your Mind ~

Guns scare me, but my hubby signed us up for the conceal and carry gun course, which was cool, and every time I shot the gun, I screamed a little out of fear and excitement, but a “light bulb” went off in my mind about something that really has nothing to do with guns…

The instructor was awesome, very passionate and knowledgeable about protecting yourself and your home, and he was passionately describing how important your home is to you, how it’s your four walls of safety, the place you go to feel peaceful and to feel protected and safe, and how those four walls belong to you, all of your stuff that matters to you is there and you are entitled to feel peaceful at your home and how if a robber came in, that he has no right to be there because it’s your space and it’s your place. And I’m thinking, heck yeah, get out of my house, robber, this is my home and my place of peace.

And then my thoughts quickly shifted to imagining how our minds are our four walls of safety, the place you go to feel peaceful, protected and safe emotionally, and how those four walls of your mind belong to you, you are entitled to feel peaceful there and how if a robber (a negative thought, depression, anxiety, etc.) came in, that it has no right to be there because your mind is your space and it’s your place of peace. And I’m thinking, heck yeah, get out of my mind negative thought, depression, anxiety, you robber, this is my mind, my emotional home and this is my place of peace.

And then the instructor told us about all the ways we can protect our physical homes, a gun, a bat, call the police, make a plan in case it happens, and the instructor said to tell the robber (before you shoot him if there’s time) to “Stop, Back Off, Get Out, Leave,” and then again my thoughts quickly shifted to how we can protect our emotional homes, our minds, by praying, the power of prayer is huge, God is always there, meditation is a great tool of protection, saging to release negative energy and bring in the positive energy, reaching out to a friend, and there is so much more…

Know that your mind is your four walls of your emotional home, your four walls of safety, the place you go to feel peaceful and to feel protected and loved, and your mind belongs to you, all of your stuff that matters to you is there and you are entitled to feel peaceful there.

Own your home, Own your mind! Just like you’d tell a robber to get out of your house, tell a negative thought, depression, anxiety or negative energy, “Stop, Back Off, Get Out, Leave, By the grace of God, be gone!”

Peace and love to you all! ~ Missy
