I asked this question to one of the monks sitting in meditation in the temple who lives near our village. The meditation will implement the body and mind engagement to inter-connect inner power into one unit. The organs of the body are physically separate and functional. Although the parts are identifiable, the ultimate function is functioning to sustain life. Here it is believed that the mind is a source of energy connected to the whole body. It has been scientifically confirmed that a person who is meditation has higher universal wisdom than an average person. Accordingly, his comments were as follows:

The third eye, also known as the mind’s eye or inner eye, is a mystic unseen eye that normally appears to be situated on the forehead and offers perception beyond the range of the five senses. The gateway to the inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness is referred to as the third eye. The third eye is a common spiritual emblem of enlightenment.

He said, that opening the third eye should be done with great care and with an inner understanding of one’s mind and that there is a possibility of invisible forces entering one’s body with some incomprehensible thoughts.

Although no scientific information was received from him, various researches have been conducted on this in South Asian countries. Among these, several kinds of research were conducted according to centuries-old yoga methods in India, and people are motivated to use them popularly in Western countries.

According to them, the third eye chakra is located squarely in the middle of your forehead, just above the gap between your eyebrows. This energy point, called Ajna in Sanskrit, is regarded as the location of inner wisdom, intuition, and self-realization. You might have heard when you going to learn yoga or meditation, the teachers reference the third eye as a focal point for concentration during your practice. But what is your third eye? and how identified it?

What are the best ways to open and activate this chakra for better self-awareness and perception in daily life?

What is Chakras? Here is the brief explanation

Here is the scientific, and spiritual details of the third eye chakra, plus how you can work to open your third eye for greater intuition.

The energy centers of the body are known as chakras. They are found in the astral body, running from the base of the spine up to the crown of the head. The energy body that resides inside of our physical body is called the astral body. There is an astral body part that corresponds to each physical body part. It is impossible to see or touch the astral body. We are unable to view the chakras for the same reason.

Each chakra emits a distinct color and energy. Everyone corresponds to a gland in the human body. It is claimed that physical, psychological, and emotional illnesses can result from the blockage or malfunction of any chakra because each one corresponds to particular spiritual, emotional, psychological, and physical parts of who we are.

The seven chakras begin at the base of the spine and extend upwards toward the top of your head. They are:

  1. Root Chakra (Muladhara)
  2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)
  4. Heart Chakra (Anahata)
  5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)
  6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)
  7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)

How can Identify the third eye chakra?

The sixth chakra, which is also connected with the sixth sense, is the third eye chakra. This chakra, which is the center of intuition and spiritual consciousness, is situated in the middle of the forehead, directly above the area between your eyebrows. Additionally, it is associated with creativity, perception, and an understanding of the “larger picture” of your life and the wider universe.

The Ajna chakra is translated as “perceive,” “command,” or “beyond wisdom” in the Sanskrit language. In Hinduism, the third eye is seen to be the key to opening the subconscious mind and connecting with Brahman, God, or other universal energies.

Overview of the third eye chakra

· Location: Forehead, between the physical eyes

· Associations: spirituality, intuition, Imagination, sight, wisdom, perception, inspiration

· Organs: Pineal gland and pituitary gland

· Color: Purple or dark blue

Scientific background of Third eye chakra

The third eye chakra is strongly tied to the pituitary and pineal glands, despite the fact that a lot of the terminology used to describe it makes it appear like it is only a spiritual idea. These are the brain structures that control our physiological well-being, spiritual connection, body vibration, and vision.

About pineal gland

The pineal gland was described as the “Seat of the Soul” by Renee Descartes and a tiny, pea-sized gland located in the center of the brain. Its purpose isn’t entirely clear. It does create and control some hormones, including melatonin, as far as researchers are aware. The function of melatonin in controlling sleep cycles is best known. Circadian rhythms are another name for sleep patterns.

Light diffusion by glands

Serotonin and melatonin are also released by the pineal gland, another area of the brain. Our circadian rhythms (sleep patterns), which were initially based on sunlight and moonlight, are controlled by these hormones. The third eye chakra’s primary related element is light.

The pineal gland is a vital aspect of the three-part photo-neuro-endocrine system or the body parts that control our true vision, and as technology and microscopy have advanced, even scientists have started to refer to it as the “third eye.”

How open third eye chakra

Before opening the third eye, some religions emphasize the importance of opening and balancing all of the other chakras.

It is claimed that doing so will provide you with the foundation and ability to manage the insights of higher awareness. Alternatively, some people think that opening the third eye would be unstable.

“When the third eye link is developed, the illusion of self-spirit separation disappears.”

Covington advises the following techniques if you’re prepared to awaken your third eye chakra:

  • Activate your third eye.
  • Supplement the diet that you take.
  • Apply and use essential oils.
  • Practice meditation and chanting.
  • Use crystals.

How many times does it take to open your third eye?

When it comes to how long it will take for your third eye to open, there is no specific timeframe for that. Some individuals think it might require a few days, a week, a month, or perhaps much more. Others claim that it requires years, if not a lifetime, of practice.

According to Covington, you should set aside some time each day to practice opening your third eye.

“If you try spending 10 minutes each day consciously activating your third eye through meditation, prayer, chanting, yoga, essential oil, dance, and flower essence use,” the monk says.

The Third Eye usually opens when the person is ready to step on his’ or her’ spiritual path and trust me, the Universe has a plan for this moment. Everything happens exactly at the right time.

You’ll start getting guiding messages and visions once you start using your third eye, he explains. The more guts you have to act on what your intuition tells you, the stronger your third eye will become.
