Only four days in Kolkata
Serge Bouvet

Being a native, I see my city dying. It is completely chaotic with little civility left in daily interactions. The town planners have long given up on Kolkata and let it grow like a misshapen keloid. Administration is hardly visible and is limited only to decoration of some parts of the city. Innovation and entrepreneurship has long taken flight, leaving behind small businesses encroaching on sidewalks. 'City of joy,’ I feel, is a satirical title. Sadly, the joke is lost on us.
