Embeds

This is a embedded tweet. It demonstrates something important and cool and supports what I’m saying.

This is the different tweet.

I have a bunch of stuff to say about this tweet so I might just say it here off to the side and let the tweet hang out near me so that you can see the tweet and read this paragraph at the same time. Crazy right?

This is a Soundcloud ink.

You get the idea? Just drop a link in and if Medium supports the platform, it will render properly.

Giphys work too. I hope.

Text

This is a line of text.

This is an excerpt from the article that’s up in that first tweet.

Even Vox, poster child for bloodless birds-eye analysis, has started a podcast “about how policy affects real-life people.” (Some might just call that reporting.)

But it’s actually a quote. To make it look look like this I clicked the quote icon twice.

Even Vox, poster child for bloodless birds-eye analysis, has started a podcast “about how policy affects real-life people.” (Some might just call that reporting.)

Cool, look what I can do. I can do a starter thing at the beginning of this paragraph. That’s neat. (I think it’s officially called a drop cap.)

Oh look, I did it again. Now I need to write more write more words so it doesn’t look weird. Cool cool cool.

What else can I do?

  • lists
  • awesome
  • just type an * or a “-” and the list will start

Who doesn’t love lists?

  1. Or, press 1
  2. Then keep hitting enter
  3. And you get a numbered list

Images

This is an image that I uploaded from my computer. It’s a super cool image because it links to another web page.

To do that, I selected the image then pressed ⌘ + K / Ctrl + K and voila.

This is a caption. The image above is a screenshot of a 1979 article from the magazine “Black Enterprise.”

This is an image I took from Google Images. It looks like a link. Weird. I guess Medium doesn’t support images from URLs.

This is the same image that I copied and paste from elsewhere on the internet. That worked.

Here it is a little bigger.

And even bigger. Good for a header image.

Wow. That’s REALLY big.

Here are a few photos of my apartment.

Craigslist post.

What else can I do? Videos? Cool.

And PDFs.

Or another Medium post.

Key point from that article above:

Leave yourself TK notes. Write “TK” anywhere in your story as a placeholder and reminder to yourself to finish something later. Medium will warn you if you have any TKs left before you hit Publish.

K, that was fun.

So fun.

REALLY fun.
