Thank you so very much for being a part of the growing chorus and singing about hope! People truly do treat me differently since I’ve admitted my mental illness, some simply stopped all contact. The more successful professionals, like you, that publicly discuss these matters, with a focus on treatment and belonging, the less it will scare people away from those of us who are coping with mental illness.
Getting help and pushing through some cognitive behavioral therapy, (‘Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy’ is a wonderful self therapeutic book to use along with counseling and if needed medication) and joining groups that provided a community looking towards the same goals, truly helped my situation and continues to do so.
Please keep up your evangelical public professions! You are making a difference for all of us who don’t have your reach and penetration into general culture.
