Tarot Lesson of the Week — Two of Wands
Planning and acting come together.
The eagerness in this card is palpable.
The spark we had in the Ace is now smoking, and where there is smoke there is bound to be fire.
Wands prefer action, movement, and challenge, so the balance demanded of the two can have it tapping its toes, eager to just get on with it. To this young fire energy, planning can be boring.
Our figure observes the world. What is out there waiting for me? How can I see it all? He is bound to be more successful in his pursuit if he heeds the lesson of the two.
Planning and action do not need to compete. They can feed each other and work in a positive feedback loop.
Action taken impulsively or prematurely can stall progress, just like spending too much time planning can have a diminishing return. Taking the time to think through the journey ahead will allow a full picture of the challenges and opportunities that await, and executing with intention will produce the desired flame.
Of course, fire is unpredictable, and even the most carefully laid plans will need to be adapted, but setting a course from the start will help direct the burn.
