What is heaven and where is it?

What is heaven and where is it?
This is what my lover asked me this morning, as she thinks she is dying? I hope and pray she is not. But I know she is afraid. Fear is her illness and her enemy. I wish I could erase all her fears and give her peace, courage, and faith.

Wow, what a question first thing in the morning. What would you have said? This is how I answered her:

“Heaven is here on earth and is now as well as a wonderful home or place we will go to be with God when we die. So no need to be afraid.”

I believe in heaven and it is a wonderful place God has created for us, but I also believe Heaven is God’s ever-present love that surrounds us all right now. Heaven is in all of us. It is God’s Love, God’s perfect peace and love that surrounds everyone. Heaven is all the memories and thoughts you have about those you love who have passed away. Heaven is words that you love and relate to and want to hear. Perhaps heaven is your favorite place here on earth like Ke’e.

Dear Carol, You are joy and energy and kindness and giving. You are a kiss on my cheek. You are a memory lodged in my heart. You are in me and with me forever because of our love.

Every time something reminds you of someone you love that has left this world and who you believe is in heaven then you will hear heaven’s whispers. Perhaps angels hear your words and whisper them back to you when you need reassurance. Perhaps it is the Holy Spirit filling you with peace.

Often simple things remind us of those we loved who are in heaven. Carol commented: Like Jayno is a white butterfly? Yes, I said, “whenever I see a white butterfly I think of Jayno. No, I do not think she is the butterfly, but then again perhaps she is. She always did fly around everywhere surrounded by light. But what the butterfly does is remind me of Jayno. That is a heavenly reminder that she is with me always. She is instilled in my heart and soul just as you are.”

I wanted to say just the right words that would calm her and erase her fears. It is so hard to comfort those we love, especially when they are afraid.

“You are “sunshine” and “light” and “kindness.” These words are you and when I hear them whether you are in heaven or here on earth they remind me of loving you. I am your rainbow and rainbows remind you of me, just as sunlight and sunshine and sparkles in the ocean remind me of you. You are and will be forever “My Sunshine.”

We grew up believing in heaven as that is what we learned from our mommas and daddy’s. We learned in church so many bible verses that we could say when we are afraid.

I was taught by my momma that God made heaven for me and you. Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you and if it were not so I would have told you.” Believe it or not, I can paraphrase many verses. Sometimes I get them right and sometimes they are just whispers.

In John 14 Jesus further said.
1“Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4“And you know the way where I am going.” 5Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” 6Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.

Simply love and believe that Jesus is the Christ and you are assured of heaven.

God gives us a helper in the Holy Spirit that is inside of us. The Holy spirit is as simple as breathing in and breathing out. The wind, a whisper, a song, a melody, an aching, and a longing. A joyful energy that is everywhere.

Jesus said to reassure us:
16“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you.
It says in 1 Corinthians 15 that Jesus shall come quickly.

I like the simplicity of the different translations of the bible, but kind of remember smatterings and pieces of the King James version or paraphrases of that.

51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,It will happen in an instant, in a split second at the sound of the last trumpet. Indeed, that trumpet will sound, and then the dead will come back to life. They will be changed so that they can live forever. 53 This body that decays must be changed into a body that cannot decay. This mortal body must be changed into a body that will live forever. 54 When this body that decays is changed into a body that cannot decay, and this mortal body is changed into a body that will live forever, then the teaching of Scripture will come true:“DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory. 55“O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?” “Death is turned into victory! “ 56 Sin gives death its sting, and God’s standards give sin its power. 57 Thank God that he gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

As momma would say. Jesus come quickly!
