Universal tips for people managers

I think this is a great list of what I consider to be very real daily struggles of people managers everywhere. I highly recommend!

My favourite was

7) Recognize you can’t do everything. Close your eyes, fall backwards, and learn to trust.

So often I see managers who are absolutely focused on doing everything themselves, or are so focused on checking work that shouldn’t need to be checked (unless you have a real reason) all in the name of “I have to do everything”.

Thinking you can do it all, that everything is on you is a one way trip to being burnt out and sad. You need to trust, more importantly you need to cultivate trust. One of the many items that can make managing people a mental and emotional (rewarding) mine
