WHAT ARE TOOTH GEMS?
Tooth gems are tiny lead-free crystals or gold charms applied to the tooth using a process similar to applying orthodontic braces.
WHICH TEETH ARE BEST FOR GETTING TOOTH GEMS?
The top front four teeth are the best as they get the least friction over time, followed by the canines. The lower teeth see a little more wear and tear, but the time frame is about the same. Anything past your canines, however, I would not recommend as you mainly use them for chewing.
HOW LONG WILL THE TOOTH JEWEL LAST?
If properly applied, tooth gems last anywhere from 6 months up to 24 months for the Swarovski crystals, brilliance crystals, shaped crystals, and 6 to 12 months for the authentic gold charms & genuine diamonds (due to the extra weight on these specific charms). With extra care, they may last even longer.
CAN I FEEL THE JEWEL ON MY TOOTH?
The jewels are only 0.4mm or 0.9mm thick and 1.8mm to 3mm in diameter. Initially, something on your tooth will feel different, but a few days after the application, you will get used to the new feeling.
WILL THE JEWEL HARM MY TOOTH?
No! The jewel will bond to the enamel, like an orthodontic bracket, without any drilling or pain. The procedure and removal are similar to the placement and removal of orthodontic brackets. The gem/charm pops off, and the tooth will be polished to remove any remaining bonding material.
I HAVE VENEERS/A FALSE TOOTH, CAN I STILL GET A TOOTH GEM?
Unfortunately, the bonding agent will only attach to natural tooth tissue.
I HAVE A GEM/BOND ON MY TOOTH CURRENTLY, CAN YOU REMOVE IT?
Unfortunately, tooth gem technicians cannot remove crystals/bond at the time of your service; a dentist must do it before you arrive. Your tooth must be free of previous crystals/bond at the time of service. The bonding agent will not attach to the existing bond.
