April’s Fool

That time we almost pranked Jason

So it’s not exactly a secret that Jason is thirsty for some company, although ideally just for one night. So when April Fool’s Day came around, we thought.. “how can we fuck with him?”

Jason’s the kind of guy to be pretty cautious with who he opens up to and who he shares his life with, but he’s by no means a shy person. He’s always down to make new friends, so we though that a blind date scenario would be perfect.

Our friend Jasmine was key in this plot, since she had figure skated for the US internationally, she’s made friends around the world. This came in handy because we needed a girl that Jason had absolutely no mutual friends with. Her name was Kai and she’s a German and Taiwanese mix, so, as you can imagine, she was gorgeous and Jason was down for the idea in a heartbeat.

He showed him pictures of her and Jasmine told him what she’s like and how many days she’d be in town, and it all built up and Jason was totally fooled into thinking this beautiful woman was going to come meet him on Tuesday. We helped him choose his outfit and make his dinner reservation so everything was all set to take place that night.

Little did he know that this blind date of his was never going to show up, and that his suite mates would be there half an hour before he would get there, since we knew where and when the dinner reservation was. We’d all try our best to dress exactly as he was going to dress, since we helped him pick out his outfit for the night. He never saw it coming.

We got to the restaurant that night before he did, a nice little restaurant with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff, and we got a table for six, asking that we could be near the entrance so Jason would see us when he walked in. We sat around, joking about how he would react and laughing at how evil this all was, when we saw his figure walk through the door.

He appeared anxious, checking his hair in the window before noticing anything else. Then, as he was asking the hostess about his reservation, his eyes flicked up suspiciously, as if he knew that we were staring at him. The purest look of confusion came across his face, and he suddenly realized what the day’s date was. He quietly told the hostess that his party was already here, and walked over, looking defeated, but with a smile on his face.

“Yo, fuck you guys.” Jason muttered.

He sat down, and we bounced around him shouting April Fools, disturbing the whole restaurant, but everyone seemed to enjoy the vibe. We all sat down for dinner and talked about how we set the prank up for him and how it was too hilarious during the planning process that he believed everything we said. We all ordered and ate dinner together, laughing and remembering this joke, and we ended up paying for Jason’s meal out of good fun. These are the kinds of friends you’ll keep forever.
